See Classical Mystery Tour with the Cape Symphony in our Beatles Tribute on Saturday, June 16th. Fellow musicians say Doug has always played with that signature Ringo style. Doug’s favorite memories are playing in Liverpool, recording in Abbey Road Studios, and backing Tony Sheridan in Hamburg at The Kaiserkeller. (Yes, you read that correctly.) His travels performing The Fab Four’s music have taken him across the globe. But a certain record stood out from the others: The Beatles "Ticket To Ride." Doug has performed for 23 years in Dallas' top Beatles tribute band, A Hard Night's Day. At the age of five, he discovered the magic of rock n‘ roll through his parents’ 45-rpm records, including Elvis, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, and Buddy Holly. Tom still enjoys recreating the classic Beatle recordings in a live performance setting, with an attention to detail which is his hallmark.ĭouglas Cox was born in Kansas City, MO and was raised in Texas. He has written songs for artists such as Alice Cooper, as well as touring the world as singer-guitarist for Joe Jackson, Sophie B. His vocal impersonations of numerous rock icons have also been featured in many television ads and Broadway productions. Thomas Teeley has starred as George Harrison in both the Broadway production of Beatlemania and the film version. Paul considers it an honor to pay tribute to his idol. Paul's love for the Beatles has driven him to master the character of Paul McCartney down to every detail, from vocal inflections to turning the bass over to perform left-handed. At age 14, he was a member of the pop band "Wayward," and went on to record five albums. He quickly adapted to guitar and piano, which drove him to write and record his own music. Classical Mystery Tour was the result.Īt ten years old, Paul’s musical journey began when he taught himself the drums. It has long been Jim’s dream to share with the public live performances of some of the greatest music ever written and recorded, so in 1996, he began working on his idea for a new Beatles tribute show with orchestra.

Then, at age 18, he began touring internationally with various Beatles tribute productions, visiting Japan, Korea, China, Canada, Mexico, and South America.
#BAND IN A BOX CLASSICAL PROFESSIONAL#
His first professional performance as a Beatles tribute artist was at 16. He was eight years old when he first heard The Beatles, and promptly decided to take up the study of the guitar. Jim began studying the piano at age six, and won honors in various piano performance competitions throughout his teenage years. He gained rich musical experience from his father, who played music from the classics for him on the piano, and from his extensive library of recordings by the great classical artists. Jim Owen was born and raised in Huntington Beach, California.
